How to apply for a graduate course
The application process varies slightly depending on whether you’re applying for a coursework-based graduate degree or a research degree. We've simplified everything you need to know to make applying to Monash easier.
Information for international students on how to apply is available on our Study website.
If you're looking to join one of our research degree programs (PhD, professional doctorate, Master of Philosophy, masters by research, masters by research and coursework), visit our dedicated page for detailed information on how to apply.
- Check your eligibility:
All graduate research degrees have minimum academic entry requirements, English language proficiency and relevant research or professional experience. Some courses may have additional entry requirements. - Before you apply:
Most faculties require you to have identified and made contact with a potential supervisor before you submit your application. You will also need to prepare your research proposal and gather all your documentation on hand before you start. If you’re doing a performance-based PhD, you may be asked for additional information and supporting documents. - Submit your application:
Applications for admission only (without scholarship consideration) can be submitted at any time throughout the year. Before you begin, review the Application Submission Guide for a full list of the required supporting documentation. When you are ready, submit your application on my.app
